The area we live in California is far from affluent but yet ironically has a great view of one of the many gated communities tucked between the valleys.

I have always lived here and though it might not be the safest, it is still home. If I were to leave I would be abandoning it. Instead I try to make the best I can of my situation and the situation of those around me.

I am able to feed my whole family and still have enough to donate to the local food bank each week thanks to coupons. One thing is for sure, I live in a bad neighborhood, but I am eating well and happy still.
